A note from DK Ibomeka

It's spring, my favorite season (tied with Fall), and I'm really enjoying the new warmer weather and all of the creativity in the air.

Things are going well as I prepare for my upcoming concerts and the release of my new album: "I'm Your Man" (the release date will be announced soon).

I've been working with my brilliant piano player, Michael Shand, rehearsing for a small, intimate "sneak peek " at the new album's songs next week at the Opal Lounge here in Toronto, from Tuesday April 8th through and including Saturday April 12th. We will also perform some other great classic songs and some originals. It will be just piano and voice, (not the full band that's on the album).

I've always enjoyed singing with one instrument. It really brings the beauty of the lyrics and melodies to the front and provides so much space to paint. This will be my first time performing my new songs and I am hoping you will come out and enjoy a romantic and fun evening with Michael and me.

For those of you looking for other concerts coming up you can check out my website www.dkibomeka.com and, in the website menu, click on "SHOWS" (or "VIEW ALL SHOWS" at the bottom of the homepage). You'll see that I'm performing with the DIVA Jazz Orchestra in Germany in a few weeks. We have finalized the set list for the concerts, organized the new arrangements and all the flights are booked. I'm really looking forward to singing with the DIVA's again.

DK will be in Hannover Germany performing with the Diva Jazz Orchestra at the Ennercity Swing festival:

April 30 at the "Jazzbandball" at the Hannover Congress Centrum
May 1 at the "Open-Air-Konzert" at 1:00PM sharing the bill with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Saturday, May 3 DK will be the featured performer at the Autism Services 10th Annual Spring Gala at TCU Place, Saskatoon.

Friday, May 9 DK will be opening Canada's jazz Festival season with a headlining show at the 1,000 Islands Jazz Festival in the Brockville Arts Centre at 8:00 PM
